I on...Thanks so much for sharing all this, Daggy!

I only caught the UTs once and it was definitely in my top 10 all time greatest concerts!Steve from Moonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14074565580429334218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7744444020349998004.post-63569611094323854762020-03-31T21:08:36.153-04:002020-03-31T21:08:36.153-04:00My first ever concert was the Untouchables playing...My first ever concert was the Untouchables playing at the Del Mar Fair in 1986. I fell in love with their music instantly. They played better shows in smaller venues across San Diego, and played a lot in Tijuana, which caused me to get my first fake ID. They played my grad night at my high school. I saw them every chance I could.

Feeling homesick in Ithaca, NY in October 1988 my freshman year, they were the unannounced "special guest" that opened for UB40 at Cornell and I think the afterglow carried me through my first real winter.

For the longest time I couldn't get Wild Child on CD (though it played constantly on my record player). I believe it was a licensing issue, and Ghetto Stout had re-recordings of so many songs as a result (with Jerry Miller not quite hitting the same notes/feelings as Chuck's originals). Finally found a Japanese import, and since then it's become available here in the US. But the original LP record version of Wild Child is different than on subsequent versions of the Wild Child album.

I've seen amazing live bands—Fishbone is a particular highlight—but nothing beat watching The Untouchables live. If I compiled such things, their shows would occupy 6 or 7 spots of my top 10 concerts.
Daggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01362956871137725289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7744444020349998004.post-46722717639925690832020-03-31T21:08:14.788-04:002020-03-31T21:08:14.788-04:00My first ever concert was the Untouchables playing...My first ever concert was the Untouchables playing at the Del Mar Fair in 1986.
